Quick course day checklist
- Arrive by 8:45 am (doors open)

What should I bring?
Comfortable clothes, indoor shoes or socks, lunch and snacks, and a picture of your unexpired certificate if you're recertifying.

How do I get my certificate?
You'll receive it by email after your course.
Are snacks or drinks available?
Coffee and tea are available for $1, and we provide filtered water — bring your own bottle to refill. You're welcome to bring your own snacks and lunch.
Your guide to hassle-free parking
Destination: 28 Aberdeen St, Kentville, NS
To ensure you can focus entirely on your course, please review our parking options below. Moving your vehicle during class sessions is not an option.
Recommended “all-day” free parking
- Dept. of Justice Lot – 3 Min Walk
- Rec Centre Lot – 3 Min Walk
- Gaspereau Press Lot – 4 Min Walk
- Centennial Arena Lot – 6 Min Walk
Coming from the east (New Minas / Halifax)
- Exit 12 (New Minas): Take Exit 12 and head west toward Kentville on Commercial St (Hwy 1).
- The approach: Continue straight until you enter downtown Kentville. Commercial St becomes Main Street.
- Best all-day access: Turn right onto Bridge Street to access the Department of Justice lot (3-minute walk), or continue to Webster Street for the Arena lot.
Coming from the west (Coldbrook / Berwick)
- Exit 14 (Coldbrook): Take Exit 14 and head east on Highway 1 toward Kentville.
- The approach: You will enter town on Main Street.
- Best all-day access: As you pass the Canada Post Office, turn left onto Webster Street. This brings you directly to the Centennial Arena lot on your left — the easiest place to find a morning spot.
Our training environment
Supportive, hands-on, and relaxed:
- Small group or partner activities
- All equipment sanitized; hand sanitizer and gloves provided
- AC is on, so bring a layer if you get cold
If there's anything we can do to make your experience more comfortable, just let us know. Reach out for any personal concerns, or arrive early and speak with an instructor.

CPR/AED Level C is included with all courses below except BLS for Healthcare (HCP).
Basic First Aid
1 day, 9:00–4:30 (30-minute lunch)
Intermediate First Aid
2 days, 9:00–4:30 (30-minute lunch)
Basic First Aid – Recertification
9:00–1:00
Intermediate First Aid – Recertification
9:00–4:30
CPR/AED Level C
Half day, 9:00–1:00
BLS for Healthcare (HCP)
9:00–1:30 (for healthcare providers; renews yearly)
Blended Learning (Basic or Intermediate First Aid)
Online plus in-person skills. Timing depends on the course.
Marine Basic First Aid
2 days unless blended learning
All courses are CSA approved through the Canadian Red Cross. Lunch and finish times may shift slightly with group size.
Certification details
- Level C: All our courses are Level C — covering CPR and choking for infants, children, and adults — unless you specifically requested and booked a different level with us.
- Recertifying? Please bring your current, unexpired certificate.
- Blended learning:You'll receive an online module to finish before your in-person session. When you're done, just email us. Your certificate arrives after both parts are complete.
- BLS/HCP CPR: For healthcare professionals; must be renewed yearly. Valid only 1 year and includes no first aid component of certificate.
If your plans change
Need to cancel or reschedule? Life happens! Here's how it works:
- Up to 48 hours before your course: Use your confirmation link to cancel or move your booking.
- Less than 48 hours before your course: No refunds, but you can reschedule for a $60 plus HST fee through your confirmation link or by emailing us.
- More than two reschedules: A new registration will be needed.
- No-shows or cancellations with less than 48 hours' notice: No refund or reschedule, as your spot was held for you.
- Illness or emergency:Email us — we'll always do our best to help.
Good to know
- No smoking anywhere on the property, including the parking lot (Town of Kentville bylaws).
- Weather cancellations:If we ever need to cancel for weather, you'll get an email, and we'll post updates on Facebook.
- Accessibility or allergies? Text us — we want everyone to feel safe and comfortable.
